Dusting cloths are extremely convenient for daily cleaning as they let you collect dust quickly from floors and furniture without clogging your vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately, they quickly get tossed and end up in landfills making them harmful to the environment and for your wallet!
The solution, as usual, is in your pantry.
DIY reusable dusting cloths:
WHAT YOU NEED
- A 32-Ounce glass jar with an air-tight screw top
- Cotton scraps in your preferred size
- 8 oz hot water
- 8 oz white vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon
Pour both the hot water and the white vinegar into the jar.
Add the olive oil.
Squeeze and strain your lemon to extract the juice, and add it to your jar.
Next, cut the lemon rind into pieces, remove the pulp residue and add the rinds to the jar as well.
Stuff the remainder of the space in the jar with your cloth scraps, close the lid and shake gently so they soak evenly.
After cloths have sufficiently soaked, squeeze them to remove any excess liquid.
Let them sit for a couple of hours, then lay out until dry.
Use the dry cloths to collect your household dust, then simply throw them in your washing machine.
Repeat, repeat, repeat!
