How to make your house smell good: the natural way

Coming back home and being welcomed by a good smell after a stressful and tiring day at work is a wonderful feeling. If you’ve always been wondering how to make your house smell good and you thought it was very expensive or impossible doing it in a natural way, you will find this article very interesting.

You don’t need to spend a lot of money in house cleaning products to make your home smell good.

There is plenty of natural remedies to fill your home with a gorgeous scent, making it pleasant, relaxing and fragrant. First of all, get into the habit of opening the windows, even just for a few minutes, and let the fresh air in: free natural perfume!

Here are some suggestions:

Scented Molds

Why don’t make your own scented molds to place in draws, wardrobes, kitchen, and bathroom bins or simply fill a vase with them to have a good-smelling house? To make the molds you will need baking soda, distilled water, and essential oil of your choice. Combine all the ingredient together to make a thick mixture. Divide them into small molds and let dry for 24-48 hours.

Lavender lemon candles

If you have left over lemon halves from baking or lemonade blending, don’t throw them away; use them to make gorgeous smelling candles. Simply remove any left over pulp from the rind half, then melt wax beans/flakes in the microwave. Once the wax has melted, add the dried lavender and a few drops of essential oil. Insert the wick into the lemon half and pour the hot wax: allow time to set.

Scented pots

Fill your house with a gorgeous sweet natural fragrant scent. Add orange peel, apple, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and star anise to a pot and simmer to instantly get an all-natural DIY air freshener.

Scented lavender bags

Cotton handkerchiefs or tulle favors can be filled with rice, a tablespoon of salt, essential oils, aromatic spices and dried flowers, close with a ribbon and used to scent closets and drawers. You can choose between marjoram, rosemary, lavender, cedar, cinnamon, cloves, juniper, lemon balm, mint, orange, pink, lemon.
